Description
On 22 September 2010 at 11:00, a seminar entitled "Analysis of Sequence, Structure and Function: Applications to Antibodies and Mutations", organised by the AGCT-UOMO Project Group of CRS4 will be held at the Technology Park in Pula.
The research group led by Dr. Martin focuses on structural bioinformatics - trying to understand the relationship between protein sequence, structure and function, exploiting this information both in understanding and treating disease. This seminar will present two aspects of this work: first Dr. Martin will present some of their work on antibodies, a relatively new and very important class of molecules for use in therapy with around 1/3 of all drugs in development being antibodies. Second he will present work on the effects of mutation on protein structure in an effort to understand how mutation can lead to disease.
The official language of the seminar is English.
