Small-scale concentrated solar power: demonstration plants in Sardinia and industrial process heat

Sun seen through fingers
25.09.2015
Description
On 25 September 2015, Sardegna Ricerche and the partners of the EU project InSun will organise a joint event both on the implementation of small-scale concentrating solar power plants (CSP) in Sardinia and on the application of solar technologies for process heat. The event will take place at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia in Pula.

The morning conference will firstly focus on the activities carried out within the "Concentrating Solar Power" project which is coordinated by Sardegna Ricerche and funded by the Regional Operational Program ERDF 2007-2013. In particular, the prospects of small-scale concentrating solar technologies for electricity and heat generation in the Sardinian industrial sector will be analysed. During the morning there will also be presentations on the EU project "InSun- Industrial Process Heat by Solar Collectors" as well as examples of best practices and case studies with regards to various industrial sectors.

The first half of the day will close with an overview of the Italian incentive schemes supporting heat production from concentrating solar power plants for industrial applications and of the opportunities offered by the new Regional Operational Programme (ROP ERDF 2014-2020).

The afternoon session will be entirely devoted to the industrial workshop of the InSun project. Specifically, there will be presented the outputs of the research activities carried out on solar process heat applications in dairy processes, meat treatment as well as on brick drying.

See the full programme of the event in the section "Related Documents".

Participation is free, subject to registration, preferably by 21 September, filling in the online registration form. Please use the section "Note" of the registration form to specify whether you will attend the whole event or the morning/afternoon session.
