New tenancy spaces at Polaris
01.01.2011
In December 2010, construction works were accomplished on building 8 of the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia. The new building will meet the growing demand for additional tenancy space and ancillary services.
The building, designed like the previous ones by prestigious Studio Gregotti Associati International, is located on the western end of the Rio Palaceris valley, on a slight rise with respect to the campus road, and comprises two above-ground storeys.
The building, rectangular and about 98 m long, will house research laboratories, while the basement has a car park of about 1.200 sqm for 48 cars, and utility rooms.
The ground-level main entrance, fronted by a square, leads to the two floors of the building, comprising about 1,200 sqm of laboratories each.
Four staircases and lifts link the various floors: the lifts are designed for full accessibility also for persons with disabilities. Internally, the building, having a width of about 16 m, has a central corridor running through its length, connecting the four staircases/lifts.
Internal floors are in granite tiles in the entrance lobbies, and in vulcanised rubber in the laboratory areas.
