Description
Porto Conte Ricerche is organizing the Inaugural Summer School on Proteomics from 7 to 11 September 2011. The School Programme is intended to offer an overview of modern proteomic methods and techniques related to biotechnology, and how they can be applied.

The programme will integrate a "hands-on" experience with key lectures on the basic theory underlying proteomic techniques and experimental design, integrated by case-study lectures illustrating their practical applications.

Students will have the opportunity to experience some of the cutting edge techniques available at Porto Conte Ricerche Proteomics Lab.

The course is funded by the Regional Sardinian Government and will be held in English. Further information and a detailed program are available on the School official web site.

How to apply
This course is aimed at those students with little experience in protein gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry who wish to have a comprehensive overview of the typical proteomics workflows, including gel-based and on-line methods. Individuals who may primarily benefit from this course include:
1. graduate students and post-doctoral fellows
2. proteomics core users
3. researchers who are considering incorporating proteomics protocols into their own research.
