Profile
Elianto is a company that designs, builds and sells ‘turnkey’ small-scale concentration solar power installations (up to 5 MWe) for the production of electricity, heat and cooling. The company was founded in May 2007 as a spin-off of CRS4 (Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia) by researchers Piero Pili and Giovanni Murgia of the research group led by Prof. Carlo Rubbia (Nobel Prize in Physics in 1984), a major innovator of solar thermal technology.

Competences e technologies
Elianto proposes a type of solar installations that has become mature from a technical-scientific and industrial point of view, highly competitive in its target markets. The solar systems are based on Linear Fresnel Reflectors (LFR) technology, developed in-house and covered by patents and industrial secret. The extensive proprietary knowledge and know-how built by the company are the added value positioning Elianto as a competitive player in the Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST) market.

Prodotti, servizi e applicazioni
The type of CSP plants supplied by Elianto for the production of medium and high-temperature industrial process heat are able to combine the following subsystems:
1. solar field of LFRs for collecting and concentrating solar radiation
2. packed-bed thermocline thermal energy storage (TES) system
3. indirect saturated steam generator or Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power generator
4. indirect absorption refrigeration unit for the production of refrigerated fluid down to -10 °C
5. BoP, the set of working fluid management system comprising:
- pumping station
- control valves
- piping of the working fluid transport network in the solar field and in the receivers
- thermal process interfacing systems.
