Innovative technologies and approaches for Rare Disease Diagnosis and Treatment

On Friday 28 February, Cagliari will host the conference 'Innovative technologies and approaches for Rare Disease Diagnosis and Treatment'. The initiative is organised by Sardegna Ricerche within Enterprise Europe Network activities, in collaboration with CRS4 and the association ‘Gli Equilibristi - HIBM’, focusing on the theme of rare diseases.
In detail, the conference will cover new technologies and diagnostic developments in Sardinia, and is organised in synergy with ERDF-funded initiatives in progress in Sardinia in the fields of biotechnologies and biomedicine. The conference is organised as part of the 13th international Rare Disease Day, which is promoted and coordinated by EURORDIS, represented in Italy by UNIAMO.
The event is open to researchers working on diagnosis and treatment, patients and their associations, universities, public and private research centres, and biotech and biomed companies. Its main objectives are to promote awareness of the issue and to communicate how the NGS - Next Generation Sequencing Technologies at CRS4 (a research centre based at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia) can help to develop diagnostic protocols.
